A homecoming, a book, and a thank you
Less than a year ago,
I left East Tennessee for work and family.
It was a bittersweet departure…

In 2021, I returned to my roots for what soon became two graduate school programs. I fell in love with the area and the people all over again. I was delighted to see the progress that continues to refine such a beautiful place — while the indelible marks of artistry, preservation, and hospitality distinguish this corner of the country as one of the most desirable destinations in a land full of diversity and natural beauty.

Upon my return, almost immediately I knew I wanted to plant my base permanently in the Appalachian Mountains. But life can hold unexpected twists and turns, so I reluctantly left my homeland and beloved community. Once again, over the mountain and back to the bustle of urban life…

Now, it is with great joy that I share my departure was only for a season:
I'm coming home.
Permanently this time—God willing. ;)

My strong ties to Georgia and California are woven deeply into who I am—the friendships, the work, and the experiences that shaped my perspective. And thanks to modern travel and technology, I can continue all the work I love from anywhere. Love and friendships don’t end because of distance. The truest connections grow deeper despite distance.

However, this delightful transition did mean delaying the release of my first book, Daughters. This is a work I labored over diligently during my recent years in Tennessee, so it feels only fitting to wait and share its arrival with the community who held me through every page of its making. A proper celebration is on its way, later this year.

More to come — with so much love, and so much joy.

Your storyteller for every occasion,
