Cynthia Millhorn, M.A., M.A.
Storyteller, Educator & Fellow Traveler in Grief
That truth was not something Cynthia Millhorn read in a book — it is something she lived. Her life has been shaped by profound loss, fractured familial relationships, and a long, honest road toward forgiveness. That road was not about absolving harmful behavior, but about seeking to understand the roots of dysfunction — and in doing so, finding liberation. She has learned that moving through grief, rather than around it, is the only path that leads somewhere real.
What emerged from that journey is a hard-won wisdom: that loss, in its wake, can leave behind a harvest of remembrance — bittersweet, yes, but also generative. Grief can become the very soil from which new growth, renewed purpose, and even joy take root again.
Cynthia brings that lived truth into every space she enters — grounded in both personal experience and professional depth. She holds dual master's degrees in Communication & Storytelling Studies and Liberal Studies, and has spent her career as a published author, performing member of the Jonesborough Storytellers' Guild, and experienced educator, sharing her work with counseling programs, faith communities, schools, and private gatherings.
She doesn't come to this circle as a guide who stands apart. She comes as a fellow traveler — someone who has sat in the hard places, done the slow work, and knows firsthand what it means to grieve, to forgive, and to find your way back to life.
