The Conservatory by Cynthia & Co. · Academics
A little clarity.
A lot of possibility.
Private tutoring, test preparation, and admissions essay coaching—thoughtful guidance for students finding their footing, their confidence, and their voice.
Welcome to Conservatory Academics
Good teaching starts
with listening.
There is a person behind every assignment, test score, and application. Understanding that person—their strengths, their questions, and what keeps getting in the way—is where meaningful academic work begins.
At The Conservatory, Cynthia brings the insight of an experienced educator and the curiosity of a storyteller to individual academic support. The work is focused and practical, with room for questions, discovery, and the satisfaction of finally understanding.
Previously known as Tutor2Order, these services are now at home within The Conservatory by Cynthia & Co.

Let’s find the story you need to tell →Meet your educator
Cynthia Millhorn,
M.A., M.A.
Educator. Writer. Storyteller. A good listener with a well-stocked toolbox.
Cynthia’s work spans high school classrooms, university and community college teaching, private academic coaching, journalism, and live performance. With twenty years of teaching experience and two master’s degrees, she brings both academic depth and a creative approach to helping students move forward.
Whether the task is understanding a difficult lesson or shaping a compelling personal statement, the aim is the same: help students think clearly, work with purpose, and trust their own voice.
Getting started
A conversation.
Then a direction.
01 / Tell me where you are
Start with the student.
Share the grade level, subject or application, current challenges, and any upcoming deadlines.
02 / Find the fit
Talk through the goals.
We discuss the support that makes sense, along with scheduling, availability, and fees.
03 / Get to work
Build from there.
Begin focused sessions with a clear purpose, adjusting the approach as the student’s needs develop.
A few practical questions
Before we begin.
Are sessions online?
Virtual tutoring and coaching are available. Include your time zone and preferred meeting times in your inquiry so we can discuss scheduling.
What subjects and grade levels do you support?
Academic support spans a range of school subjects, writing, humanities, and test preparation. Send the student’s grade level and specific course or assignment so Cynthia can confirm whether the service is a good fit.
How much do services cost?
Fees depend on the type and scope of support. After discussing your goals, Cynthia will share the relevant rates or package options before you commit.
Can we focus only on an admissions essay?
Yes. An inquiry can focus on a college essay, supplemental essays, or a graduate or professional school personal statement. Include the application deadlines and where you are in the writing process.
Your next chapter starts with a conversation
Let’s make room
for what comes next.
Tell me a little about the student, the goal, and the timeline.
We’ll take it from there.
