Storytelling
Cynthia Millhorn is a dynamic storyteller whose work explores human nature, myth, history, and spirituality through imaginative, emotionally resonant performance. She holds dual master’s degrees in Storytelling and Liberal Studies, grounding her creative work in rigorous scholarship and interdisciplinary study.
Her capstone project became "Daughters," a deconstructed Grimm’s Fairy Tale one-woman show that reclaims and reimagines the inner lives of women in classic tales. The production was featured at the Atlanta Fringe Festival and the Asheville Fringe Festival, performing to sold-out audiences in diverse theatrical spaces. Her companion book, "Daughters," was published in February 2026, with two additional storytelling books forthcoming in 2026.
Cynthia’s original works—including "Botticelli Babes," a comedic and compelling exploration of women’s history—blend narrative, character embodiment, and audience engagement in an immersive theatrical style that has earned both artistic and academic acclaim.
A performing member of the Jonesborough Storytellers’ Guild, Cynthia is committed to storytelling as a vehicle for education, healing, and connection. She has performed for festivals, schools, churches, counseling programs, and private groups, including audiences recovering from brain injury, experiencing dementia, or navigating learning differences.
In addition to performance, she has served as a university guest lecturer, story circle facilitator, dramaturge, theatre director, emcee, and arts educator—bringing depth, warmth, and professionalism to every stage and community she serves.
